Stardust ecosystem

Stardust isn’t a single app — it’s a platform for theatre tooling, anchored by Stardust Pit (the virtual instrument host) and growing toward Stardust Sheets (the production-aware score library) after Pit’s 1.0.

The ecosystem framing matters even at this early stage because the design choices being made in Pit constrain (and enable) every product that follows. The data formats, the protocols between apps, the schema versioning, the local-first commitment — these are platform-level decisions, not Pit-specific ones.

What you’ll find in this section

• Vision — the long-horizon framing: why Stardust is a platform for theatre, not a single app. Includes the speculative-but-named future apps so the ecosystem direction is visible.
• Principles — the architectural and product rules every Stardust product is built against. Local-first. Theatre vocabulary. Reliability over novelty. UI isolated from realtime. These are the things that shouldn’t bend.
• Roadmap — where the ecosystem is going at a high level: Pit’s path to 1.0, Sheets starting after that, speculative future apps acknowledged but not built.
